Echinacea angustifolia was one of the most important plants of the Indigenous Peoples of the Great Plains. They used it for snake bites, septic conditions, chronic infections, sores, toothache, gum disease, and more. This herb can be considered a good alterative, or blood cleanser. It is best used for severe acute infections, chronic infections, and the prevention of recurring infection. Research has shown Echinacea’s ability to increase white blood cell count, as well as have direct antimicrobial activity.
