Description
The aromatics within lavender are cooling and relaxing to the system. It is well suited to cases of nervous tension that cause headaches, spasms, muscle tension, and anxiety. Lavender is used as a calming agent when the activity of the mind causes tension in the body. It can be useful for nervous indigestion, nausea, and irritable bowel syndrome. Although the effects of lavender is well-known, there is a lesser known action of it opening blood vessels, especially in the liver, to improve circulation and indirectly aid in the nourishment of tissues. The pleasant essential oil used topically is effective as an antimicrobial, skin healer, pain reliever, and muscle relaxant.
