Hellebore blooms and emerges in the darkest phase of winter in the northern hemisphere. Her roots are deep and strongly grounded into the Earth. Through the dark ages, Hellebore was used to treat parasites and menstrual dysfunctions. Its medicinal qualities depended on the color of the plant itself. Black Hellebore was mostly used, while white and light shades of mauve were known to be more poisonous. Either way, only a highly skilled herbalist should be treating ailments with Hellebore.

Hellebore is also known as the High Priestess. Her flower essence holds deep intuition like her strong root system; she holds the elements of grounding us to the Earth while helping us to find our own strength. This strong connection to Saturn and Mars gives us the courage to move through whatever life presents, helping us to navigate our karmas and purge what no longer serves us. Hellebore gives us a deep connection to Mother Earth and helps us to stay grounded in times of darkness. She reminds us that in these times of darkness beauty can emerge.

Flower essence tinctures work by modifying energy flow through the typical acupuncture meridians. Shifts in these energetic patterns influence the consciousness in helpful ways both emotionally and physically. These homeopathic remedies can be described as “vibrational” or energy medicine. Flowers themselves contain the highest concentration of life force energy of the plant. Through the sun infusion method, we can harness the healing vibrational pattern and energy of the flower. This is imprinted in the water and then preserved as medicine. Preserved with brandy but can be replaced with glycerin upon request.

The flower essence of Hellebore is only the vibration of the plant and no plant material is used in the harvesting process.

This can be used as a tincture ingested neat, or added to water, tea whatever you feel. I recommend one drop in water three times a day. All of the essences can also be added to a bath.
